English for Kids
Parents and their kids (about ages 8-12), learning English together
English for Kids is a beginner English course for children aged about 8 to 12, designed to be worked through with a parent. It covers English sounds, first words, building sentences, and talking about yourself, your family and your day, and ends with a small book the child makes.
Fifteen short lessons to do together at the table, starting from the very beginning: the sounds English has that Arabic doesn't, your first words, how to build a sentence, and how to talk about yourself, your family, and your day. Every lesson ends with something to try out loud.
هذه دورة إنجليزية للمبتدئين، مخصّصة للأطفال من نحو ثماني سنوات إلى اثنتي عشرة، ومصمّمة ليعملها الطفل مع أحد والديه على الطاولة. تبدأ من الصفر: الأصوات الإنجليزية التي لا توجد في العربية، ثم الكلمات الأولى، ثم كيف تُبنى الجملة، ثم الحديث عن النفس والأسرة واليوم. وكل درس ينتهي بنشاط قصير يجرّبه الطفل بصوته. الدروس الخمسة الأولى مجانية. ملاحظة مهمة: إذا أردت أن تظهر الدروس الأولى مشروحة بالعربية لطفلك، فأدِّ اختبار تحديد المستوى القصير في صفحة /english/ar نيابةً عنه واختر مستوى مبتدئاً، فعندها تظهر الشروح بالعربية تلقائياً.
What you'll be able to do
- Your child can say hello, introduce themselves, and answer simple questions in English
- They can hear the difference between English sounds that Arabic doesn't have
- They can build a proper English sentence instead of translating word by word
- They know numbers, colours, days, food, family and school words they'll actually use
- They can talk about what they're doing now, what they did yesterday, and what they'll do tomorrow
- They can read a short story in English and understand it
- You have fifteen things you've done together, and a little book your child made
